Sophia Williams to Act as Registrar of Titles

Effective today (January 26), Sophia Williams will act as the new Registrar of Titles.

This was announced by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Land Agency, Elizabeth Stair.
Miss Williams joined the Office of Titles in 1996 in the capacity of Legal Officer 2. She assumed the position of Manager, Memorandum/Deputy Registrar of Titles in 2001, when the Office of Titles was merged with Land Valuation, Lands Department and the Survey Department to form the National Land Agency. She is currently the Manager, Legal Applications/Senior Deputy Registrar of Titles.

Miss Williams was called to the Bar in 1996 and has 10 years experience in practising law, specializing in the field of conveyancing. She has participated in the International Swedesurvey Course in Strategic Planning and Management of Land Administration and Geographical Information Organizations (Sweden), and has completed the Public Sector Senior Management Programme at the Management Institute for National Development (MIND). The National Land Agency has been operating as an Executive Agency since 2001.
