Mr. Thompson visited the institution as part of a school tour to promote the importance of child protection and the Agency’s 211 Child Abuse Reporting Hotline.

Jamaica’s Promise – JIS Heritage Poster Competition Winner

The Jamaica Information service (JIS) 2024 Heritage Competition recently culminated with the presentation of awards to competition finalists across the categories of photography, poster and essay writing. Held under the theme “Out of Many…One People” the competition saw primary; secondary and tertiary students express their opinion and interpretation of the theme using their skill and creativity. 18-year-old Herbert Morrison Technical High student Nathan Morris was announced the winner of the poster competition, open to secondary students, for his interpretation of the theme on canvas. The sixth former explained that his entry portrays the diverse range of ethnic groups that reside in Jamaica.
