As part of activities to celebrate its 285th anniversary this year, Manning’s School in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland recently opened the Victor Lowe STEM Centre designed to give students access to higher quality education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Students and staff at Ardenne High will soon benefit from the services of a health and wellness centre to be constructed on the school campus.  The project, which is the brainchild of the Ardenne Alumni Foundation, is expected to be finished within a year at an estimated cost of $60 million.

Nineteen-year-old Dora Watt was among nine high school awardees in Jamaica who were recently awarded by the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) for outstanding academic performance in the region.  Watt was awarded Top CAPE Humanities student after attaining passes of grades ones and twos in ten units of CAPE.

The Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) awarded nine students from high schools across the island who got the highest grades in 2022 sitting of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE).  The students were given their awards at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education and Youth’s head office in Kingston on Thursday, February 09.

On Thursday February 09 the Heart Foundation of Jamaica launched its ‘Out of Our Schools’ Mass Media Campaign, in support of Phase 1 of the recently approved School Nutrition Policy which is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Health and Wellness in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Youth.
