Minister with responsibility for Information, Daryl Vaz disclosed that under the arrangement, a Steering Committee has been established chaired by Christopher Zacca, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister with support from a core technical team. The Steering Committee will report to the Ministerial Committee at least every two weeks. Minister Vaz said administrative and related support will be provided by the Office of the Cabinet.
The Steering Committee will be responsible for financial investment decisions, development of project value chain, project commercial structure, and execution of contracts, among other things.
LNG is increasingly being promoted worldwide for generating electricity because of its low price in comparison to oil.
