Education Minister, Rev. the Hon. Ronald Thwaites, is again urging parents to make significant investments in advancing their children’s educational development.
Speaking at the official opening of the Hammersmith Preparatory School in Trelawny, recently, Rev. Thwaites contended that parents must regard their children’s education as a priority, while stressing the need for them to make the sacrifices that will facilitate this.
“I know it is a sacrifice for you. But I am telling you, investing in your children to come to an institution where they get quality learning, and come out as rounded persons is more important than buying the car,” he argued.
In commending the founders of Hammersmith Preparatory School, Rev. Thwaites noted the school’s emphasis on providing its pupils with a sound start to their educational development. He said based on the pupils’ feedback, there is every indication that they will do well.
“When you do that, you are virtually guaranteeing their success at the higher levels of the educational system. There is no doubt that this school is a worthwhile investment,” Rev. Thwaites said.
Hammersmith Preparatory School currently has 70 enrolled students.
