The Full Story

The Government of Jamaica (GOJ) has devoted $11 billion to modernising and constructing tax offices across the island. Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) and taxpayers will benefit from improved revenue centres and expanded online payment systems, which will facilitate more efficient services.

New Tax Offices

To increase the use of services, new tax centres will be built in:

• Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth
• Brown’s Town, St. Ann
• Christiana, Manchester
• Mandeville, Manchester

Tax Office Upgrades

The Montego Bay Revenue Centre in St. James and the Annotto Bay Tax Office in Portland will be refurbished. The Cross Roads Tax Office will be relocated to an eight-storey building, offering full service and the Kingston Revenue Service Centre will get an additional building on King Street to support increased demand.

Online Payment of Taxes

Eighty per cent of tax categories can now be paid on the TAJ web portal and mobile app. The online platforms will be redesigned to improve user-friendliness. Online services will be expanded to include renewal of motor vehicle registrations on the website and police record payments on the app.
