Contract Awarded to Protection & Security to Guard JUTC

Cabinet has approved the award of a contract to Protection and Security Limited for the provision of security services for the Jamaica Urban Transit Company Limited (JUTC) for the period 2008 – 2010.
The contract is in the sum of $124, 265,472.00.
The JUTC has security guard service at it various locations, consisting of both armed and unarmed personnel. The service is currently under contract with Atlas Protection Limited and will expire on August 31, 2008.
In seeking to have security service continued, the company employed the selective tender process.
The companies that tendered were Guardsman Limited, Protection and Security Limited, Vanguard security Limited, Ranger Protection and Security Limited and Atlas Protection Limited.
The JUTC falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport and Works.
