July 28, 2008

The Full Story

Nurse Cassia Taylor-Smith, who was recently named by the Manchester Health Services as Worker of the Year, said she was born to serve people and that is why she choosed a career in nursing.
Mrs. Taylor-Smith, who works at the Christiana Health Centre, entered the nursing profession in 1995 as a student at the Cornwall School of Nursing in St. James, told JIS News that despite her belief that it was a divine calling for her to be a nurse, she had to pave her path to fulfill what was also an ambition of hers.
“I do believe that it was a calling from God for me to be a nurse, and it was also my ambition, and so to make that dream come through I got myself qualified and pursued it to the end. Its very challenging working in the health system but my joy is not so much about the salary that is paid to us as nurses, I feel that I have done something wonderful when I see my clients improving after we have served them,” Nurse Taylor-Smith informed.
Public Health Nurse at the Christiana Health Centre, Llia Miller-Beecher, said Mrs. Taylor is a reliable professional and that the entire staff at the Centre are delighted to see their colleague achieve this milestone.
“She is an excellent and dependable team player, she works well with staff members, the public can always depend on her to serve with humility and we all share with her getting this award,” Mrs. Miller-Beecher stated.
