The Full Story

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising employers that monthly statutory deductions (S01) for June are due on Monday, July 15, 2024.

This is because of the usual due date of the 14th day of the month falling on the Sunday.

Taxpayers may therefore submit their June S01 the following business day, Monday, July 15 without incurring any penalty.

Business persons are reminded of the host of payment options at their fingertips, which includes via the TAJ Direct Funds Transfer process for business-related tax payments.

This is in addition to customers being able to make payments via the Tax Authority’s website www.jamaicatax.gov.jm using a credit card, or other banking card with credit card features.

Additionally, taxpayers can utilize Scotia OnLine and Mobile App, in addition to being able to make tax payments via the National Commercial Bank, as the respective clientele are able to use their online banking platforms by adding TAJ as a Payee.

Additionally, employers are urged to make their payments on time to benefit from an Employment Tax Credit.

Eligible persons MUST file and pay their monthly statutory payroll deductions (S01) on time.

Such employers may claim the total amount of payroll statutory contributions for Education Tax, NHT, NIS and HEART, that is, both the employee and employer portions, which have been declared and paid on time for each month of that year.

Please note, that the maximum amount, which can be claimed, is thirty percent (30%) of the Income Tax payable in the year of assessment for unregulated entities.

For further information, persons may contact the Tax Administration’s Customer Care Centre at 888-TAX-HELP (888.829.4357) toll-free or visit our website at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.
