United States Congresswoman, Yvette Clarke will be in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on an official three-day visit from November 13 to 15.

The congresswoman, who represents New York’s Ninth District (Brooklyn) and is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, will be visiting at the invitation of the President of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), Ms. Gloria Henry.

On arrival in Montego Bay, Ms. Clarke will be met by the President of MBCCI, Ms. Gloria Henry; Manager of the Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Gloria Fisher; Director of MBCCI, Ms. Mary Chambers; and Jamaica Tourist Board’s Protocol Officer, Mrs. Margaret Jones.

Later that evening, Ms. Henry will host a dinner in the Congresswoman’s honour, at the Round Hill Hotel and Villas. This affair will be attended by a wide cross-section of the Montego Bay business, and civic communities.

On Saturday, November 14, the U.S., Congresswoman, who is a member of the House of Representatives Energy Committee, will meet with representatives of the energy sector, including the Jamaica Public Service Company and the Port Authority of Jamaica, at the Montego Bay Cultural Centre.

She will also visit the Montego Bay Freeport, to meet with members of the manufacturing sector.

Congresswoman Clarke is also scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce Banquet and Awards Ceremony, and the inauguration of its Wall of Fame. The program takes place at the Hilton Hotel on Saturday evening.

This calendar event will bring together, over 400 members of Montego Bay’s business and civic community.

Born to Jamaican parents, the US Congresswoman serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, as well as several other committees including education, labour, homeland security and small business. She is the daughter of former New York City Council member, Jamaican-born Dr. Una S.T. Clarke.

She accompanied US President Barak Obama on his historic visit to Jamaica in April.  She returns to the United States on Sunday.
