  • All activities at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre from August 1-6, the management of the traffic will be the same.
  • This year will see a market place established for market vendors on the grounds of the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre for over one hundred (100) vendors that normally sell at the Coronation Market.

Independence/Festival Celebrations- 2015

In order to facilitate the smooth staging of these events the following Traffic Management will be put in place.

All activities at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre from August 1-6, the management of the traffic will be the same. This year will see a market place established for market vendors on the grounds of the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre for over one hundred (100) vendors that normally sell at the Coronation Market.

Before the event/ entry to venue/parking

Vehicular access to the venue will be the same using both gates from Hope Road. Those travelling from Half -Way-Tree direction will use the lower gate whilst those travelling from Papine direction will use the upper gate, where they will be directed to park by security guards who will be on duty.

N B.   The Governor General (G.G), Prime Minister (P.M), Leader of Opposition (L/O) and the Minister of Youth & Culture are the only V.I.P’s who will be allowed entry inside Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre where parking is reserved.

Other V.I.Ps will park in the slots on the asphalted section before reaching the Officer’s Club building.

General parking is provided on the grassy section of the Officers Club compound and Liberty High School.

Escorts

Provision will be made for the escorting of V.I.Ps to and from the function.

During the event

The situation will remain the same.

After the event

The traffic will egress the compound using both gates this method will lessened the time spent by motorist exiting the compound.

Deployment

A deployment of an Inspector by four (1x 4) other Traffic Personnel will be on duty on a two shift basis to cover this event on a daily basis. 10:00am-6:00pm and 5:00pm – 1:00am

 

 

GRAND GALA

AUGUST 6, 2015 AT 1PM

 

 

BEFORE THE EVENT
At 12:00 md, Arthur Wint Drive will be One Way easterly towards the Stadium. Motorists traveling from this direction will turn left on to Roosevelt, right on to Stanton Terrace, right on Mountain View Ave, right on to Arthur Wint drive and into the Car Park.
A police Check-Point will be at Roosevelt Avenue and Stanton Terrace. Only vehicles with VIP passes will be allowed to enter Roosevelt towards the Stadium. A similar check-point will at Latham Ave/Roosevelt. VIPs will enter through gate E2 which is in front of Roosevelt Ave.

 

The Governor General, Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition, Minister of Youth and Culture and the Mayor of Kingston will use Nannyville entrance and enter through gate E10 via the Marathon Tunnel. The other dignitaries under Police Escort, the Chief Justice, Chief of Defence Staff, Commissioner of Police, Ministers of Government, Diplomats and other specified dignitaries will enter through gates E2 and E10 according to how entry stickers are distributed.

 

A police check-point will also be at Mountain View Avenue /Arthur Wint drive. Only patrons going to the Stadium will be allowed to enter Arthur Wint drive from Mountain View Avenue. There will be no through way along Authur Wint Drive between gates E4 to the Bob Marley Statue at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue. The area will be sterile and available only to pedestrian traffic.

 

All JUTC buses will enter from Mountain View on to Arthur Wint drive and will veer right in the open area and set down patrons (specialized services provided by the JUTC will also occupy this area). These buses will be allowed to exit Arthur Wint drive via Mountain View.

 

Residents from Stadium Gardens will be able to leave and enter the community by using Arthur Wint as a one way easterly only.

DURING THE EVENT
The situation will remain.

AFTER THE EVENT


Arthur Wint drive will be one way westerly from gate E4 towards Tom Redcam Ave. Roosevelt Ave will be one way northerly towards Stanton Terrace. Arthur Wint drive from E5 will be one way east towards Mountain View Ave. Latham Ave will be one way northwesterly towards Old Hope Road. Motorists traveling on North and Central Ave towards Arthur Wint drive will only be allowed to turn right on to Arthur Wint Drive. Emergency vehicles will use these roads to access the Children’s Hospital.

For about 45 minutes after the event, residents of Stadium Gardens will be able to exit the community by turning left on to Arthur Wint drive but will not be able to enter or re-enter the community. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask for their cooperation for this short period

  1. No parking will be allowed on the following roads.

 

Roosevelt Road

Arthur Wint Drive

Latham Avenue

Stanton Terrace

Mountain View Avenue

 

If this is done, vehicles will be towed. All parking must take place off the roadway. Motorists are asked to position their vehicles facing the directions where the traffic will flow after the event.

Patrons are asked to secure the relevant specialized parking passes before reaching the stadium to eliminate and or reduce waiting to access parking areas.
All patrons, both motorists and pedestrians are asked to obey all directions given by the police and other security and safety personnel.
