Top Cop for St. Ann Serving With Distinction

Corporal Dalian Clarke, the 2004 LASCO/ Jamaica Constabulary Force top cop for the parish of St. Ann, has been serving the force and his parish with distinction over the past five years.
At just 25 years old, Corporal Clarke joined the JCF in 1999, and since that time, he has been working diligently to help build a society of which all Jamaicans could feel proud.
Apart from his policing activities, he is actively involved in community outreach programmes in an effort to steer the youth in a positive direction. “I had revived the Ferngrove Neighbourhood Watch in Ocho Rios when I was living in the area and to date, this Neighbourhood Watch is active,” he told JIS News.
“I am now living in Discovery Bay where I have formed two police youth clubs. One of the clubs is in Dunbarton and the other is in Liberty Hill and both clubs are active to date,” he added.
Corporal Clarke told JIS News, that he “stands proud” to know that he was named the top cop in the parish last year. “Being top cop gives me a great feeling. I am overwhelmed to know that I was chosen to represent a parish with a citizenry of over 120,000 and a police division of a total of some 350 police officers,” he stated.
The ambitious young man, has said that his dream was to one day attain the highest rank within the force. “Presently, I am pursuing an associate degree in management course at the Moneague College and I hope that this will elevate me even more in the JCF,” he told JIS News.
Corporal Clarke appealed to his parishioners to continue to support the police as they were working tirelessly to reduce crime and preserve peace in the parish.
“As an organization, we are geared towards nation building and we would like the members of the public to view us (police) as their neighbours, friends and protectors,” he concluded.
