As in many parts of the world, Child labour is illegal under Jamaican law.
In fact, the government has made great strides in reducing the number of children engaging in child labour over the years through legislation and social intervention. The objective is to achieve eradication of the crime by 2025.
And even as efforts continue to stamp out the crime, it is necessary to continue sensitizing the public about the difference between child labour and child work.
