The Government has made available 240 million dollars to purchase excess produce from farmers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, with immediate effect. Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, J.C. Hutchinson says the ministry is moving to help farmers redistribute excess produce which would have normally been sold to the hospitality sector.
