Digital Health Records System

Digital Health Records System

A medical emergency usually means taking a trip to the accident and emergency department of a public hospital near your home. Part of the process of seeking treatment involves registering the patient to access their medical records.

Currently, that process involves a clerk at the hospital physically looking for your medical record in a room full of papers and file cabinets. That process typically takes some time, especially if your name is very common.

However, steps are being taken to overcome this issue, with planning well underway for the introduction of an electronic health record (EHR) system across the public health sector.
