On July 6 the Ministry of Finance, and the Public Service launched the Government of Jamaica, University of Technology Jamaica STEM Scholarship Program, geared at bolstering the country’s capacity in Science Technology, Education and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. This scholarship program, which is being implemented in collaboration with the Students’ Loan Bureau (SLB), and The University of Technology Jamaica (UTECH), is geared at assisting some 1,000 students from low-income households over the next five years at a total cost of $2.4 billion.
