The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport has officially launched Miss Lou 100, to commemorate the centenary of the birth of cultural icon Louise Bennett Coverley. Activities have been spread across the globe, from Jamaica to Florida to Canada, with pockets of Jamaicans celebrating the mother of Jamaican Language and Culture in their own way. Dub Poet and Linguist Cue Kirk explains how Miss Lou helped to change her perception of herself as a Jamaican-Canadian.
