Occasion was the graduation ceremony for the programme, held on Wednesday (August 31), at the Sea Garden Resort in St. James. Senator Charles represented Minister of National Security, Hon. Dr. Horace Chang, at the event. IWED, a member of the Manpower and Maintenance Services (MMS) Limited Group, was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through Local Partner Development FHI360a and MMS. Some 28 at-risk youth, ages 17 to 29, from the communities of Canterbury, Rose Heights and Flanker in St. James, received certificates in food services and waitering. The programme was implemented over a six-month period, March to August.
