Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Hon. Juliet Cuthbert Flynn, has commended the operators of the Life Store Wellness Boutique for taking the bold step in opening a business that is focused on improving the health and well-being of citizens.
The State Minister was speaking at the opening of the store located in the SuperValu Towne Centre on Constant Spring Road, St. Andrew, on Wednesday (December 9).
The Life Store is a one-stop shop for everything needed for holistic living. It provides a variety of high-quality organic products to promote healthy eating, skincare and lifestyle.
“The Ministry of Health and Wellness is pleased with your commitment to not just operating a viable business in this current climate but your commitment to wellness and genuine passion to educate Jamaicans on better wellness solutions,” Mrs. Cuthbert Flynn said.
She pointed out that the store, which has committed to hosting classes and workshops on a variety of health and wellness topics in the coming months, is considered to be a partner with the Ministry in achieving wellness for all Jamaicans.
“The opening of The Life Store Wellness Boutique and the services it will offer to the public will aid Jamaicans in adopting a new lifestyle, and we at the Ministry are happy for that,” she stressed.
Director of the store, Natalie Murray, who is also a certified health coach and spinning instructor, noted that how people live their lives provides a significant marker for the expression of disease.
“There is a segment of people that just do not take the time to take care of themselves. The majority of us fail to realise that every decision that we make takes us either closer to or further away from our optimal self,” she said.
“Every decision about what to eat, drink, clean our house with, do with our spare time, is vitally important,” she added.
Ms. Murray noted that the Life Store provides a space to “encourage conversations about wellness, to teach people, to share information and to show people that healthy can be easy, fun, and vibrant”.
