He said that with the Government’s focus on attracting foreign direct investments (FDIs), the expansion of Courts is indicative of a healthy business climate and the opportunities that lie ahead for both local and international investors.

For his part, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Senator the Hon. Aubyn Hill, said that with its 65 years of experience and a steadfast commitment to the Jamaican people, “Courts is poised to continue its legacy” of quality and reliability.

He said that the new Drax Hall store stands as a testament to the company’s enduring presence in communities across the island and its vital role in shaping the future of retail in Jamaica.

Mayor of St. Ann’s Bay, Councillor Michael Belnavis, said that the new store is expected to create numerous jobs in the Drax Hall area and provides residents with access to a wide range of furniture and appliances, enhancing their living standards and contributing to the community’s overall growth.

“This is an area that has been seeing tremendous growth in recent times. The welcome addition of Courts will only add to this growth and create what is now a full-fledged business for the garden parish of St. Ann,” he added.

Members of the Unicomer Group, the parent company of Courts, also emphasised their commitment to providing “excellent customer service and a diverse range of high-quality products.”
