Labour Ministry Advisory about Payment of Fees for Jobs in Canada

September 12, 2011

The Full Story

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security refers to articles in the media regarding the recruitment of Jamaicans for jobs in Canada.

The Ministry wishes to advise that exploratory talks have begun regarding employment opportunities for a variety of skills, including pipefitters, welders, cooks, mechanics, drivers, and heavy duty operators.

Our Liaison Service in Canada is also having discussions with training institutions regarding the upgrading of skills that will be necessary for applicants to become certified for employment in Canada.

Since no firm decision has been taken about these initiatives, interested persons are being urged not to make any payment until further advised by the Ministry.
