Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon. Shahine Robinson, has hailed the patriotism and professionalism of Jamaica’s workers.
She noted that their determination and steel-like resolve are critical to the country’s economic growth and prosperity.
“There is no better service than giving back to one’s country and I see that every day with our workers,” Mrs. Robinson said.
“The greater good is Jamaica’s and I can tell you that nobody embodies or epitomises that more than the hard-working people of this country, many of whom go beyond the call of duty in the interest of this place we call home,” she added.
Minister Robinson was addressing the St. Ann Health Department’s Staff Recognition Ceremony held on June 17 at the Sandcastles Resort in Ocho Rios.
She commended the management and staff of the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital, noting that their invaluable service has made the hospital a model facility and one of the best in the country.
“As the regional hospital in the northeastern belt, this facility also serves the people of Portland, Trelawny, St. Mary and even parts of Clarendon and Manchester,” Ms. Robinson pointed out.
“It is a testament to the management and staff for their level of professionalism and for a job well done that we can proudly say that the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital is a first-class health facility that is doing wonders for this country,” she added.
Ms. Robinson also expressed gratitude for the level of private-sector support for the health facilities in the parish.
