In an effort to address unemployment, Kaiser Jamaica Bauxite Company will be holding a series of seminars to educate persons within its operational areas, about how to create income generating projects.

The first of these seminars will be held at the Kaiser Sports Club in Discovery Bay, St. Ann, on Thursday, March 11, beginning at 3:00 p.m.

In an interview with JIS News, Winston Watson, Public Relations Officer at Kaiser, explained that the main objectives of the seminar are to point the way forward for self-growth and development, and to arm participants with the necessary knowledge for their economic development.

Mr. Watson pointed out that the facilitators would be imparting information on how to create successful business plans; types of assistance persons can get from institutions: and the criteria required to access the assistance. He added that case studies of success stories would also be a feature of the seminar.

“We hope that these seminars will be a positive move forward in reducing unemployment and creating successful entrepreneurs,” he said.

Organizations which will be represented at the seminar include, the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA), the Micro Investment Development Agency (MIDA), the People’s Co-operative Bank (PC-Bank) and the Jamaica Agricultural Society (JAS).
