Jamaican Beverage Wins First Prize at Zestfest

The popular Jamaican beverage, ‘Ting’, captured first prize at ZestFest, the annual food festival, held recently in Fort Worth, Texas. The product received the People’s Preference Award for first place in the Beverage Category.
Described as ‘the drink made from real Jamaican grapefruit’, Ting has gained popularity over the years in Jamaica as well as internationally. It is produced by Desnoes and Geddes (D&G) Limited.
The annual three-day festival attracted nearly 10,000 patrons to learn, taste and experience new and flavourful foods and beverages from around the world.
Several Jamaican foods and flavours were on display. There were over 100 booths featuring a variety of spicy foods prepared by local and international chefs, The show attracted buyers from large distributors, gourmet and grocery stores throughout North America and other regions.
Participating Jamaican manufacturers included GraceKennedy Limited and Walkerswood Caribbean Foods Limited, showcasing a display of other beverages and sauces.
Diana Willis, media manager of the JTB told JIS News that there was a positive response to the Jamaican booth.
