Sports Minister, the Honourable Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange has congratulated the national senior football team, the Reggae Boyz, on their performance against Costa Rica in the just concluded CONCACAF World Cup qualifying game held at the National Stadium in Kingston.
“As Minister with responsibility for Sport, I commend the Reggae Boyz for their valiant efforts that resulted in a 1-1 draw against the Costa Ricans tonight as they continue their campaign to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia,” she said.
Minister Grange added that she was confident in speaking for all Jamaicans, those at home and in the Diaspora, saying “we are pleased with the performance of the team tonight. “I know the road to Russia will only get more competitive but the Jamaican people have all confidence in the team’s ability to move on to the next round and the coaching staff’s ability in getting our Boyz prepared,” she said, adding “you have our support and we have your backs as you continue your quest to create history yet again”.
