Gov’t Allocates $20 Million For Ministry of Education Renovations

The Government has allocated $20 million towards the rehabilitation and modification of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information’s Caenwood and National Heroes Circle premises.
The objective is to renovate, repair and expand existing office spaces at both locations.
This is contained in the 2021/22 Estimates of Expenditure, which was tabled in the House of Representatives by the Minister of Finance and the Public Service on February 18.
As of December 2020, the renovation of bathroom facilities at Caenwood phase one and Heroes Circle block one was completed.
Work also concluded on the renovation of Grant Hall, Allen Hall, the Georgian building, and upgrading of the parking lot Caenwood; and construction of a perimeter wall at Heroes Circle.
It is anticipated that for the fiscal year 2021/22, the renovation of bathroom facilities for building two at Heroes Circle will be completed.
