November 8, 2007

The Full Story

Governor General, His Excellency The Most Hon. Professor Kenneth Octavius Hall, is now Sir Kenneth. A release from King’s House said that it has been formerly announced from Buckingham Place, that Her Majesty the Queen has approved the appointment of the Governor General as Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (G.C.M.G.)
Effective immediately, the Governor-General shall be styled “His Excellency the Most Hon. Professor Sir Kenneth Octavius Hall, ON, GCMG, OJ” and his spouse shall be entitled to be styled “Her Excellency the Most Hon. Lady Hall.”
Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, had made the recommendation for the conferral of a Knighthood on Professor Hall, in keeping with the tradition in which previous Governors General, as representatives of the Queen, were similarly bestowed.
