The Full Story

Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Paula Llewellyn, will be the guest speaker at the annual fund-raiser of the Florida chapter of the Jamaica Ex-Soldiers Association (JESA).
Under the patronage of the Consul General of Jamaica, Sandra Grant Griffiths, the event will be held on Saturday, December 6, at the Hilton Airport Hotel in Davie, in the USA.
Proceeds from the event will enable the Association to continue its charitable projects in Jamaica, which include assistance to the Curphey Home in Mandeville, home of the Jamaican war veterans, as well as other community assistance programmes in South Florida.
Miss Llewellyn is the first female to be appointed to the post of DPP in the nation’s history, and is expected to share with her audience, matters relevant to the country’s crime situation, including Government’s position on capital punishment.
Formed in 1995, the 30-member Association comprises former members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), with chapters in the Northeast United States of America and Canada.
