Coroner’s Inquest Ordered

A Coroner’s inquest with a jury into the murder of Bob Woolmer is to be held. Following discussions with Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mark Shields this morning, the Coroner directed that the inquest be held as soon as practical. He also ordered that Mr. Woolmer’s body remain within his jurisdiction until the inquest has been completed.
Mr. Woolmer’s widow, Gill has been informed of the Coroner’s decision.
Members of the Pakistan Cricket Team and team officials are expected to depart Jamaica as scheduled, tomorrow, Saturday March 24, 2007.
Two Pakistani team officials will however remain in Kingston to see to the interests of the Woolmer Family.
At the invitation of the Government of Jamaica, two officials from the Pakistani Government will arrive in Jamaica tomorrow to liaise with the Jamaica authorities in order to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
