November 25, 2010

The Full Story

A contract for the implementation and management of an advertising programme concession, at the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre, has been awarded to IPrint Digital Limited.
This disclosure was made by Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Hon. Daryl Vaz at a Post Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House in Kingston on Wednesday November 24.
“The contract is for a five-year period, and there is an option to renew,” Mr. Vaz also disclosed.
The Port Authority Management Services Limited (PAMS) is a subsidiary of the Port Authority of Jamaica, which manages and operates the Transport Centre on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Works.
The Minister said that PAMS has been actively looking at strategies to increase revenue for the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre in the most cost-effective and cost-efficient manner, which would not require the expenditure of Government funds.
“In this regard, PAMS sought the services of an advertising company to develop, implement and manage an advertising programme which would generate additional revenue for the Transport Centre,” he said.
