Condolence Book Opens in Toronto for Professor Nettleford

A Condolence Book has been opened at the Jamaican Consulate General in Toronto for the late Vice Chancellor Emeritus at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Professor Rex Nettleford, who died on February 2.
Jamaica’s Consul General to Toronto, Mr. George Ramocan, is inviting all Jamaicans living in Toronto and surrounding areas to visit the Consulate and pay their respects. The Jamaican Consulate is located at 303 Eglinton Avenue East in Toronto.
“It is imperative that we show our love and respect for this great man who symbolised for many, the hope of the higher aspirations to which the ordinary Jamaican person could reach, and who has left us with a lasting legacy,” said the Consul General.
The Government of Jamaica has accorded an official funeral to the late Professor, which will take place on Tuesday, February 16, at the University Chapel, University of the West Indies, Mona.
