A first aid kit valued at $3,000, was recently donated to the One Love Basic School in Mansfield Heights, Ocho Rios, St. Ann by members of the Young Children’s Priority One Club.

The kit contains antiseptic wash and ointment, lotion, cotton balls, gloves, gauze pads, tongue blades, alcohol, cough syrup, vitamins, and a pair of scissors.

Club Director, Ava Neil, said the kit would be used to provide first aid care for the 50 children attending the school.

Majorie Robinson, retired nurse and 1st Vice President of the club, reminded the teachers and parents to “use the gloves at all times before you provide first aid to any child”, adding that they should also wash their hands after attending to the students.

Lorna Morrison, a teacher at the school, expressed gratitude for the gift, pointing out that the kit would come in very handy, particularly during emergency cases.
