Cabinet Approves Contract for Purchase of Roadbond

Cabinet has given its approval for the award of a contact valued at $21.3 million to Movern Developments Limited for the procurement of the chemical soil stabilizer, Roadbond.
“This soil stabilizer is a chemical that is used to enhance both soil and marl roads, so that they are more viable and can take heavier and more difficult traffic and retain their reliability,” Minister of Information and Development, Donald Buchanan has explained.
He was speaking at yesterday’s (May 21), weekly post-Cabinet press briefing, held at Jamaica House.The request was put to the Cabinet by the Ministry of Housing, Transport, Water and Works.
In the meantime, the Minister said that Cabinet awarded a contract to Michelin Incorporation for the procurement of 186 (480/95/R25 X-Straddle TL 206A5) Michelin tyres for new straddle carriers at the Kingston Container Terminal.
