All Road Works Cannot be done at the Same Time – PM Golding of the Infrastructure Development Programme
September 13, 2010The Full Story
Prime Minister the Hon. Bruce Golding has said that the road works being undertaken under the Jamaica Road Development Infrastructure Programme (JDIP) cannot address all roads at once. He was addressing the St Ann launch of the project in Ocho Rios, St. Ann on September 10.
He directly addressed concerns about the selection of road projects and said that all roads cannot be addressed at the same time.
Between October 2010 and March 2011 in St Ann, the JDIP will fund the repair of eight roads, 34 roads for periodic maintenance, four river training projects and two retaining walls. The sponsoring agency is the Road Maintenance Fund (RMF) with the National Works Agency (NWA) being the implementing agency and China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) Jamaica, the contractor.
