Arts Page – The IOJ Salutes the Parish of Portland on its Tricenteniary

The parish of Portland dates back to 1723, when then-Governor, the Duke of Portland, created amalgamated parts of what was then St George and a chunk of St Thomas. Some 300 years later the Institute of Jamaica this week celebrates the contributions Portland has made to Jamaica’s history, economy, and people in a celebration of Arts and Culture.
