The Full Story

The Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA), is reminding persons  who are scheduled to pick up their passports between May 20 and 22 to do so at the Police Officers’ Club on Hope Road, instead of the agency’s head office on Constant Spring Road.

“We anticipate a rush, so just for this week we are asking persons to only visit the head office to apply for their passports,” Chief Executive Office of PICA, Ms. Jennifer McDonald, said on May 18 at a JIS ‘Think Tank’,  where she also outlined the new passport fees to take effect Tuesday, May 26.

Ms. McDonald said that until Friday, May 22, PICA will only receive applications from customers whose passports have expired or will expire in six months or less as well as from first-time applicants.

In addition, PICA will not be offering expedited service during the period, except for emergency cases.

The CEO also pointed out that persons are required to take their receipts in order to allow for a smooth operation at the temporary passport pick-up outlet.
