The Full Story

Mayor of Montego Bay, His Worship Homer Davis, says the Western Regional Health Authority’s (WRHA) newly opened administrative offices, should significantly boost the delivery of services to its clients.

Addressing the official opening ceremony on July 14 at the Fairview Shopping Complex in the City, Mayor Davis said the new facilities will allow the Authority to modernize most of its functions, in meeting the demands of a growing population.

“As we take steps to improve the state of wellness of our people and to lift the standard of life, we must position ourselves to modernize our practices and improve the operation of organizations that have a profound responsibility to care for the population,” he stated.

He added that the demand for professional and efficient service from the WRHA cannot be over stated and it is critical that both the Authority and its employees are properly positioned to deliver quality customer service to clients.

“As we build our communities, we hope to provide citizens with all the amenities and facilities that will propel their progress. I have no doubt that this facility will serve its intended purpose,” Mayor Davis stated.

Meanwhile, Regional Director of the WRHA, Dr. Ken-Garfield Douglas said the new offices represent a new chapter in the service delivery standard, by the organisation.

Also addressing the function was member of the WRHA Board, Dr. Jeffery East who said the new facilities signal the Authority’s efforts to improve the conditions under which service is delivered.
