Executive Director of the Jamaica Productivity Centre (JPC), Dr. Charles Douglas, says the new 15-member Board will assist the agency to “spread the productivity message”
The new Board will be chaired by President of The Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association (JMA) Limited, Metry Seaga.
Speaking at a Jamaica Information Service (JIS) ‘Think Tank’ yesterday (November 9), at the agency’s head office in Kingston, Dr. Douglas said the new Board members are very keen on the drive to promote productivity improvement in Jamaica.
“We should be having our first meeting this week, and one of the things we are thinking about is to have each member of our Board as a Productivity Ambassador,” he said.
“We are excited about the new Board. Some members have been on the Board before and there are some new members,” he noted.
According to Dr. Douglas, the Board also comprises representatives of the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions, Jamaica Employers’ Federation, Government and academia.
“We have started to work, and I think the designation of each member of the Board as a Productivity Ambassador will help us to spread the message of productivity farther and wider,” he said.
