Cabinet has given approval for the Housing Agency of Jamaica (HAJ) to divest three parcels of land located in Hopewell, Hanover, at a cost of $850 million.

The parcels, which include one beachfront and two contiguous lots, will be divested to LCH Development Limited.

This was disclosed by Minister without Portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister with Responsibility for Information, Hon. Robert Morgan, during Wednesday’s (April 17) post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.

He said the HAJ will be allowed to retain the full proceeds of the sale in relation to the beachfront, as well as the other two parcels.

Meanwhile, Mr. Morgan informed that Cabinet approved the award of a contract for the supply of hosting equipment to upgrade the Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure at eGov Jamaica Limited, to facilitate the hosting of a Correctional Management System for the Department of Correctional Services.

The contract, valued US$801,613.02, has been awarded to Info Exchange Limited.

Additionally, Mr. Morgan said Cabinet approved the award of a contract by the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) for the provision of a new instrument landing system with distance measuring equipment, to be deployed at the Norman Manley International Airport.

The US$1.3-million contract was awarded to Intelcan Technosystems Inc.

Meanwhile, Cabinet gave approval for Jamaica to host the 52nd Global Fund Board Meeting from November 19 to 22, 2024.

Cabinet also approved the appointment of members of several Boards. These include the Noel Holmes Hospital Management Committee, Southern Regional Health Authority Board of Management, the Jamaica National Heritage Trust Board of Trustees, and the Pharmacy Council of Jamaica.
