Cabinet Approves $41 Million Contract for Maintenance of Petrojam

Cabinet has given the go-ahead for the Ministry of Industry, Technology, Energy and Commerce, to award a contract valued at $41.158 million to Quality Plus Contracting Company Limited to provide plant maintenance labour services to Petrojam Limited for two years. This was announced yesterday (May 21), by Minister of Information and Development, Donald Buchanan at the weekly post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.
In addition, a contract was also awarded to Cleaver Brooks Incorporated to supply a packaged 75,000 pound per house (pph) watertube boiler to Petrojam Limited.
Mr. Buchanan noted that the present broiler had experienced continuous failure and as such there was a need to replace it. The contract is valued at US$642,720.00.
