VMBS Opens Regional Office in Florida

Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS), has joined other Jamaican companies operating corporate offices in Florida, with the opening of its Miami office last month.
The office, located in the County Square Shopping Centre in Miami Gardens, is the first overseas branch of the VMBS Group of Companies in the United States of America.
With a staff complement of three, VMBS will bring a wide range of financial services and products to nearly 400,000 Jamaicans and other nationals living in the tri-county Florida community, as well as communities across the Southeastern USA.
Branch Manager, Suzette Rochester, said that VMBS was pleased to be part of the Jamaican community in South Florida. She said that Miami was recognised as the best location because of the large number of Jamaicans living in the area.
The objective of VMBS, she added, was to replicate its services across the United States, especially in fast growing Jamaican communities.
The company will offer services in residential and commercial mortgages, savings, general insurance, property services, investment and wealth creation and advisory services.
Victoria Mutual operates a conglomerate with 15 branches across the island and the 130 year-old company also has satellite offices and agents in the United Kingdom and Canada.
