Venue for National Honours & Awards Changed to Indoor Sports Centre
October 12, 2007The Full Story
The National honours and awards ceremony, originally scheduled for the lawns of Kings House, will take place instead at the National Indoor sports Centre on Monday, October 15, National Heroes Day, starting at 9:00am.
The change of venue has come as a result of the uncertainty with the weather conditions. The organisers have been forced to change the venue to an enclosed one which can accommodate the thousands, expected to attend to witness their fellow Jamaicans accepting their awards and honours for their great achievements in their respective fields.
To be honoured on Monday, will be stalwarts in various fields and professions such as education, medicine, sports, the military, politics and those unsung heroes who have earned the right to stand tall before the nation.
The event is opened to the public and guests are being requested to be seated by 8:30am.
