Two Jamaican nationals are among persons elected to serve as Commissioners in Florida, following their successful bid in the mid-term elections last November.Dale Holness will serve as Broward County Commissioner in District 9, while Commissioner Alexandra Davis, a newcomer to politics, has earned a seat on the City Commission of Miramar.Prior to his new appointment, Mr. Holness served for six years as a Commissioner in Lauderhill, a suburban community of Fort Lauderdale.During his tenure on the Lauderhill City Commission, Mr. Holness was active in many civic organisations, including serving as President of the Sister City International.
