Tsunami Relief Fund Opened

The Full Story

The Government has established a Special Fund to help victims of the tsunami disaster in Asia and Africa. Prime Minister P.J. Patterson who made the announcement on Monday (Jan. 3) said the Government would make the start with an initial contribution of J$15 Million.
Jamaican firms, organizations and individuals may make contributions to the fund at branches of the Bank of Nova Scotia A/c number 906703 or the National Commercial Bank A/c number 351029889.
In the meantime, contributions from Jamaican nationals living abroad will be received by Diplomatic Representatives and forwarded to the United Nations through our UN Permanent Representative in New York.
