Trelawny Returning Residents and United Way Assisting the Needy

The Trelawny Returning Residents Association (TRRA) has forged a partnership with United Way of Jamaica to improve the quality of life for needy persons in that parish.
President of TRRA, Estella Grant said that the Association’s successes have been quite encouraging. Highlighting a number of accomplishments, she said the Association had contributed greatly to projects such as the Kitchen of Love, the beautification of the Falmouth Hospital, and furnishing of sections of the Martha Brae Basic School, among many others.
Mrs. Grant informed that the ongoing Kitchen of Love project operated from the Parish Church Community Hall in Falmouth and that, “every Wednesday meals are being prepared and served to those who are in need”.
The Association’s most recent project, she noted was the re-roofing of the laundry area of the Falmouth Infirmary in December of last year at a cost of $207,000. “The job was completed within time and budget and today the results can be seen,” Mrs. Grant said.
She expressed appreciation to United Way of Jamaica and the members of the TRRA for their support and dedication to the Association, and encouraged members of the public to work closely with the TRRA to continue to assist the needy in that Parish. “We at the TRRA are committed to helping our fellowmen and we are appealing to the residents of Trelawny to do something different and worthwhile for our suffering brothers and sisters,” she concluded.
