The Full Story

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists to expect traffic delays along the Mandela Highway on Thursday, August 29, 2013. This as the Agency reduces to single lane access, a section of both the Eastern and Western carriageways, between White Marl and the Caymanas Crossing.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says this reduced access along the Mandela Highway on Thursday, is necessary to facilitate emergency repairs to several spots along the corridor. Mr. Shaw says the works which will last for approximately five (5) hours, between 10 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., will entail removing badly deteriorated sections of the road and patching with asphaltic concrete.

The NWA is advising motorists to proceed with caution while travelling along the Mandela Highway and to observe all posted warning signs and flag persons deployed to the area.
