September 19, 2003

The Full Story

The St. Elizabeth Parish Development Committee (PDC) has organised a fish fry to raise money for the upgrading of the Sandy Bank Primary School in Junction.
The event will be held on Sunday, September 20, at the Jack Sprat Restaurant in Treasure Beach beginning at noon and Jason Henzell, Chairman of the PDC, is inviting residents to come out and support the worthy cause.
Approximately $1.8 million is needed to upgrade the facility and the scope of work comprises the provision of three additional classrooms, a 45-computer workstation laboratory with air conditioning, sickbay and seven bathrooms.
Persons wishing to contribute to the effort can contact Carol Genus, Executive Secretary of the PDC, at the St. Elizabeth Parish Council, 58 High Street, Black River or telephone 634-3926. “We welcome donations in cash or kind,” Mr. Henzell said.
He noted that the PDC planned to undertake other community development projects providing that funds were available.
