The Full Story

The Scientific Research Council (SRC) will hold its second in a series of public consultations on the draft Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy Framework for the Caribbean, at the Cecil Charlton Hall in Mandeville on September 15.
The document, which was prepared by the Caribbean Council for Science & Technology, addresses among things, the popularization of science in the region; science and technology education; human resource planning; policy advice, planning and financing; and research and development.
It is in keeping with the perceived need by CARICOM member states for the creation of a regional approach, which will facilitate better coordination in so far as it relates to STI policy formulation.Stakeholders and other concerned individuals from Central Jamaica are being invited to come out and participate in the discussions, which will begin at 4:00 p.m.
A complete copy of the draft document will be made available by e-mailing andreah@src-jamaica.org or patricet@src-jamaica.org
Persons can also make contact with the SRC by telephoning (876) 927-1771-4.
