Solicitor General and CEO of RGD Appointed

The Public Service Commission has announced the appointments of Mrs. Nicole Foster-Pusey as Solicitor General in the Attorney General’s Chambers; and Mrs. Deirdre A. P. English-Gosse as Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Keeper of the Records in the Registrar General’s Department (RGD).

The appointments take effect on August 7, 2012.

Mrs. Foster-Pusey previously served in the Attorney General’s Chambers between 1993 and 2008, where she developed considerable expertise in the areas of litigation, commercial and constitutional law.

She completed her Certificate in Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School in 1992, and received the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Scholarship in 1992, which enabled her to complete the Master of Law at the University of Cambridge.

Mrs. English-Gosse, an attorney at law, has served in various capacities in a number of public sector agencies, including the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, Companies Office of Jamaica, Broadcasting Commission and National Irrigation Commission, where she garnered extensive legal and corporate management experience.

She also completed her Master of Law in Information Technology and Telecommunications Law at the University of Strathclyde, in the United Kingdom.
