Consul General of Jamaica to New York, Hon. Dr. Basil K. Bryan will deliver the keynote address at the Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College Past Students Association grand reunion celebration on Saturday, July 28, at 8:30 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, JFK Airport Compound, in Queens, NY.
The grand reunion celebration including the dinner and awards ceremony will be the high point of the weekend festivities beginning on Friday afternoon, July 27 and continuing through to Sunday afternoon, July 29.
The weekend and gala celebrations which are being hosted by the Northeast chapter of the Sam Sharpe College PSA, include a registration and ‘Get Acquainted’ session at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, on Friday afternoon; a fun and games session on Saturday morning at the nearby Baisley Park; and a Thanksgiving Church Service and Brunch on Sunday morning.
The past students will honour and recognize former Principal and outstanding educator Dr. Simon Clarke and current Principal, Dr. Cecile Walden for their years of dedicated service to the college and for professional excellence in the field of education.
Proceeds from the event will benefit a number of programmes and bursaries at the college, established in 1977 in the district of Granville, a Montego Bay suburb.
